Albott Bonhomme was
born in Port-de-Paix, Haiti in 1963. He started as a fisher and a farmer with
his father and has always lived in intense communion with Nature.
Passionate for mechanics since he was a little boy (he
graduated at EFTEC & Mathurin’s School in Port-au-Prince) , however, at age of
12, he had an interest in painting although he had not taken any art courses.
He started to paint marines and portraits, and developed
his personal technique by an extremely original research on calligraphy and
cartography.
He became an expert in 1990. Starting this moment, he began
a period centered on birds painted in an environment of luxuriant vegetation.
Nature pursued him and really took possession of the painter. It is that passion
that animates him, that uses him as a medium to give birth to an artwork of a
great plenitude.
The art works of Bonhomme have been exhibited around the
world, especially in Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. However, it is at Paris
((Antoinette Jean’s Gallery) and at Tokyo (Bunkomura Gallery) that the sincerity
of the works of Albott Bonhomme has encountered his greatest5 successes, His art
was exhibited in 1995 for the first tme at the Japanese Museum YOKKAICHI. His
last last show was in Italy in January 1996.
