Louiszor Ersnt
Born on October 16, 1938, Ernst Louizor studied at both Ecole Nationale Smith Duplessis and Lycee Toussaint Louverture. Even as a child, he had the habit of expressing himself with the help of lines, sometimes black ones scribbled on the wall with charcoal, sometimes, white, drawn in quicklime or chalks. After this transitional period he entered the Academy of Fine Arts which had been created in 1959 and studied drawing, composition and perspective with Geo Ramponeau. Served by a prodigious memory and a remarkable sharpness of vision, Louizor has imparted a very personal style to his compositions. He has formed many disciples among which his brothers and wife. He has exhibited in Haiti, Europe, Japan and the USA. Ernst Louizor is certainly the best impressionist painter of Haiti.
